Quick answer
Gutter services in Crenshaw, CA: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Los Angeles installs seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel gutters on Crenshaw homes, most of them built in the 1940s and 1950s, forming every run on-site. We hand-clean fan palm fronds, jacaranda bloom, Brazilian pepper berries and elm seed out of the trough, repair sagging and leaking runs, fit BroGuard micro-mesh where trees hang over the roof and point downspouts toward the street so water stays away from stucco walls and slab or raised foundations. Crenshaw Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for Crenshaw’s postwar blocks
George L. Crenshaw put his name on the boulevard in 1904, and the neighborhoods along it filled in during and after World War II. Crenshaw Manor, on the west side of the boulevard, was first built in 1942 for defense workers and their families, and the city made its boundaries official between Exposition Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Broadway-Crenshaw Center opened at the south end in 1947, and since 2022 the K Line has run under Crenshaw Boulevard south from Expo/Crenshaw station. Census figures for ZIP 90016 give a median year built of 1949, and in ZIP 90008, 86.7% of housing units went up before 1980. About a third of households own their home, and the rest rent from owners who call us too.
Fan palms line a lot of these blocks. Within about half a mile of Crenshaw Boulevard, between the Santa Monica Freeway and Stocker Street, the StreetsLA inventory counts 421 Mexican fan palms, the most of any species, then 313 jacarandas, 243 Brazilian peppers and 229 Chinese evergreen elms. Palms drop whole fronds, peppers drop small berries and elms shed seed in clumps that pack into an outlet. Rain is the other half of the job. The Downtown USC station averages 14.25 inches a year, February is the wettest month at 3.64 inches, and almost nothing falls from June through September, so a gutter that filled up all summer meets its first big storm full.
Robinson O’Brien-Bours owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Los Angeles, and our base on Highland Avenue in Hollywood is a direct run south. In Crenshaw and east of the boulevard in Leimert Park, our Solutionists form seamless gutters on the truck, scoop out fronds and berries by hand, replace rotted fascia on 1940s eaves, fit BroGuard mesh under palms and peppers, and connect downspouts to underground drainage when a driveway or a side yard sends water back toward the slab. California contractor license 1140218, bonded and insured.

Why the Brothers
Why Crenshaw Homeowners Call the Brothers
We tell Crenshaw homeowners plainly what needs fixing now and what can wait, and put it all in writing.
We size gutters and replace fascia to suit wartime and postwar roofs, not a one-size kit.
We clean first, then suggest mesh only where fronds, berries or seed keep filling the trough.

El Niño 2026-27
Getting Crenshaw gutters ready for El Niño
NOAA has an El Niño Advisory in effect for the 2026-27 winter. On Crenshaw homes, the job is clearing the summer’s palm and pepper litter and checking that every downspout sends water to the street instead of the slab or the driveway. Schedule the pre-storm cleaning and downspout test in October or November.

What Los Angeles Homeowners Say
“I hired The Brothers That Just Do Gutters to install some gutters above my driveway. The installer was Emiliano. He did an amazing job, didn’t take too much time, was very professional, and charged a fair price. I would highly recommend this company and installer to anyone.”
Posted on Google“Brothers Gutters were amazing. Their quoting and invoicing system was super easy to work with. Hannah and Rhys who did the back end and quote were super responsive. They gave us a really fair price and got the job done a few days later. Really top quality service and work!!”

Yes. Mexican fan palm is the most common street tree near Crenshaw Boulevard. Dead fronds land across the gutter and hold back water, and the fiber and seed stalks break down into a mat that plugs downspouts. A cleaning before December catches most of it, and BroGuard micro-mesh keeps the fine litter out between visits.
It depends on the metal and the wood behind it. If the runs are sound and only a seam or a hanger has failed, a repair is usually enough. If the gutters are rusted through or the fascia has gone soft, new seamless gutters on new fascia make more sense on a house from the 1940s. We look at both and give you a written price for each choice.
The blocks along Crenshaw Boulevard are not inside a mapped Fire Hazard Severity Zone on CAL FIRE’s current map. The nearest Very High zone covers parts of the Baldwin Hills to the southwest. Use the address check below to confirm your lot. Either way, metal gutters and non-combustible mesh are a sound choice under dry palms.
To the street, not across the driveway toward the garage or back against the house. On many Crenshaw lots, the driveway runs right along one wall, and a downspout that ends there leaves a puddle at the slab every storm. We can extend it, turn it toward the lawn or bury a line that daylights at the curb, and your written estimate compares them.
