Larchmont Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for Larchmont’s streetcar-era blocks
Larchmont covers about half a square mile, tucked between Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard from Arden Boulevard east toward Wilton Place. It was called Glenwood until 1912, and by 1920 it had grown into a streetcar suburb, with the Los Angeles Railway’s R Line running up Larchmont Boulevard to Melrose. The shops most people know went up along the 100 and 200 blocks between 1921 and 1928, while the residential streets around them filled in with single-story bungalows, duplexes and small brick and stucco apartment buildings. About a third of the housing units in ZIP 90004 were built before 1940, so a lot of the fascia and downspouts we find here are original or close to it.
The trees are the other half of the story. Larchmont Boulevard is lined with ficus, and the Greater Wilshire street tree inventory ranks jacaranda, queen palm, Mexican fan palm, southern magnolia and London plane as the most common species in the area. That means purple bloom in late spring, palm fruit and fronds most of the year, magnolia leaves that never fully stop, and big plane leaves in the fall. Most of the rain arrives from December through March, and February is the wettest month at the Downtown USC station. On small lots with tight side yards and shared driveways, an overflowing gutter usually dumps right onto a walkway or a neighbor’s wall.
Robinson O’Brien-Bours owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Los Angeles and runs it from our base on Highland Avenue in Hollywood, a short drive up the road. Our crews already work Windsor Square and Hancock Park, so Larchmont’s blocks are familiar ground. We form seamless gutters on-site, clean by hand, replace tired fascia, reroute downspouts away from shared walls and fit BroGuard where the canopy is heavy. California contractor license 1140218 covers every job, and we are bonded and insured.

Why the Brothers
Why Larchmont Homeowners Call the Brothers
We expect original fascia and patched downspouts on 1920s Larchmont homes and fix the wood before new gutters go up.
Jacaranda, palms, ficus and plane trees drop on different schedules, so we time cleanings and BroGuard around your block.
Downspouts are placed and extended so runoff misses shared driveways, walkways and the house next door.

What Los Angeles Homeowners Say
“I hired The Brothers That Just Do Gutters to install some gutters above my driveway. The installer was Emiliano. He did an amazing job, didn’t take too much time, was very professional, and charged a fair price. I would highly recommend this company and installer to anyone.”
Posted on Google“Brothers Gutters were amazing. Their quoting and invoicing system was super easy to work with. Hannah and Rhys who did the back end and quote were super responsive. They gave us a really fair price and got the job done a few days later. Really top quality service and work!!”
Posted on Google“We had been looking for someone to install our gutters for quite some time and thought a handyman would be less expensive and more reliable. Were we wrong…”

Twice a year suits most Larchmont homes: once in October or November before the rain, and once after the jacaranda bloom in late spring. Houses under queen palms or the ficus along Larchmont Boulevard may need a third visit, because palm fruit and ficus litter fall most of the year. BroGuard mesh cuts that down to a quick check.
Yes. A large share of Larchmont housing is two-unit and small multifamily buildings, and the job is the same idea at a larger scale: longer seamless runs, more downspouts and outlets placed so water does not land on a shared walkway. We work with owners or managers and keep tenants informed about access.
Not always, but it is worth checking. Many Larchmont houses date from the 1920s, and a century of paint can hide soft or split wood. New gutters need solid fascia to hold their hangers. We probe the boards during the estimate, replace only what has failed and then hang the new runs.
Away from the foundation and off anything people walk on. On tight Larchmont lots we often add extensions, swing a downspout to the front or back of the house, or tie it into underground drainage when there is no room to spread the water out across a yard.
Yes. The 1920s storefront buildings on Larchmont Boulevard have the same aging gutters, downspouts and scuppers as the houses around them, plus shoppers walking underneath. We schedule around business hours, keep the sidewalk clear and can set up recurring cleanings. See our commercial gutter services for larger roofs.
